GI index is a scale used for diabetes. Folks with diabetes can consume items with low GI Value that will slow blood glucose level response. When indicating low GI, It usually means an index value if 55 or lower. Moderate GI is anywhere between 56-69. High GI is anything over 70. Most regular white rice will be over 70. While some can be found to be in moderate GI. This rice is indicated as low GI, which is 55 or less.
