Story is about a deaf Catholic couple based in Goa, India. They are from a poor background and somehow make their living. They give birth to a son and daughter who both can hear and speak. Their son passes away in an accident and their daughter Annie grows up learning singing and music. As a young woman, Annie falls in love with a Hindu guy and gets pregnant.
