How do I clean and prepare this heavy duty iron kadhai for use.
How to Season Cast Iron or Iron Tawa for long lasting usage?
- Clean the tawa with water and scrub with a scrubber to remove any dirt or stickers
- Preheat the iron tawa and pour some cooking oil (do not overheat)
- Sprinkle some salt to the oil
- Cut half onion and rub it on salt and oil to spread all over the tawa.
- In a few minutes, rinse the tawa in normal tap water
- Cut the used half onion in small pieces, preheat tawa, add some cooking oil and fry the cut onion pieces for 5 minutes. Discard the onions once done.
It is now ready for usage.
