A sari or saree is a length of unstitched cloth, worn by women in the India. The Indian saree ranges from four to nine yards in length, and is draped over the body in various styles. In the history of Indian clothing, the Saree can be traced back to the Indus Valley Civilization. Indian sarees usually come as ensembles consisting of a blouse/choli, a petticoat/long skirt and the actual saree. It is usually worn over a petticoat with a blouse as the upper body garment.

There are more than 80 recorded ways to drape a saree. The most common style is for the sari to be wrapped around the waist, with the loose end of the fabric to be worn over the shoulder, baring the midriff.
